Does finding and removing a counterfeit listing solve the problem? Not in practice. Take one down and the same seller relists it with a new name and new images. Block the account and they move to another channel. That’s why removing individual listings can’t protect a brand on its own.

Brand protection now goes beyond “what did we find” to “who keeps infringing, where, and how.” Detection, removal, seller pattern analysis and insight for the next response have to work as one flow.

That’s where our conversations kept landing at the Snowflake World Tour Seoul 2026 Startup Village. The people we met worked in different industries and markets, but they shared one challenge: finding fast-spreading online threats more accurately and stopping them more effectively.

Drawing on those conversations, this post looks at how brand protection is moving past detection and removal into enforcement and intelligence.

Key points

  • MarqVision exhibited at the Snowflake World Tour Seoul 2026 Startup Village to show its AI brand protection.
  • Legal, IP and brand protection professionals visited from food and beverage, finance, gaming, pharma and healthcare, IT and security, and consumer goods.
  • The threats differed by industry, but every visitor saw counterfeits, gray-market sales, fake domains and impersonator accounts spreading across online channels.
  • MarqVision showed its direction as a 360° AI operations partner: not just finding and removing individual infringements, but connecting detection, enforcement, analysis and the next response.

The World Tour widened the conversation

This wasn’t MarqVision’s first conversation with Snowflake. Earlier, a small group met at Snowflake’s Seoul office for the “Snowflake × MarqVision Lunch & Learn” to dig into brand protection and data. It showed how the two companies’ technology and expertise could come together to solve real problems for brands.

Snowflake World Tour Seoul 2026 took that conversation to a bigger stage. What started in a small session carried over to an event with attendees from many industries and roles, and MarqVision got to talk directly with brand teams it rarely meets. The Startup Village booth was more than a place to present a product. It was where we heard how infringement shows up in each industry, and found the patterns those different problems have in common.

Brands from many industries at the Startup Village

Visitors from all kinds of backgrounds stopped by the MarqVision booth throughout the day. Some conversations that started with a quick product intro turned into consultations about real counterfeit cases and how to respond. Existing customers shared recent changes and new challenges, and people new to MarqVision described the specific problems their brands face.

They came from a wide range of industries:

  • Food and beverage
  • Finance
  • Gaming
  • Pharma and healthcare
  • IT and security
  • Consumer goods

Each industry protects different assets and sells through different channels. But follow the problems people described and you arrive at the same question:

“How do we quickly find infringements happening all over the internet at once, and respond so they don’t keep coming back?”

The industries were different. The threats looked alike.

Different industries, similar threats

Three problems came up most often.

Counterfeits that keep coming back on marketplaces

Counterfeits on open marketplaces and e-commerce platforms don’t disappear after one report. Removed products come back under new names and images, or the same seller keeps selling by moving between accounts and channels. Looking only at individual listings has limits. To set priorities, you need to see how repeat-infringing sellers and accounts are connected. Read more about how marketplace counterfeits affect brand trust. (OECD report on global trade in fakes)

Gray-market sales outside official distribution

Dealing with the gray market means watching, continuously, which products sell where and at what price, and spotting repeat sales patterns. See how unauthorized sellers take control of a brand’s pricing.

Fake domains and social media impersonation

These threats go beyond trademark infringement. They can harm consumers and erode brand trust, so fast detection and action matter. Learn more about how impersonation and phishing affect control of your online channels.

On the surface these are different problems. But all of them happen at the online touchpoints where consumers discover brands and buy products. That’s the brand protection challenge every industry shares.

ThreatMain impactMarqVision solution
Marketplace counterfeitsDiverts demand for genuine products, damages brand trust and threatens consumer safetyMarq AI detection and removal workflow (1,500+ channels, 95–98% removal rate on marketplaces)
Gray-market unauthorized salesPricing breaks down, authorized resellers lose trust, and stock outside your distribution can't be tracedGray-market solution (seller matching, price monitoring, seller outreach workflow)
Brand impersonation and digital riskStolen customer data, fake transactions, and lost trust through phishing sites and fake social accountsDigital risk response (impersonation detection and removal across domains, social media and ad channels)

The threats facing food brands, game companies and pharma companies looked different on the surface. Marketplace counterfeits concentrate where real demand is. According to the OECD report on global trade in fakes, global trade in fake goods reaches $467 billion, with online marketplaces and social commerce at its center. Fake listings appear first on the very channels consumers search most, and take sales before the genuine product does. For some products, that becomes a consumer safety problem.

Gray-market sales happen outside official distribution, without the brand knowing. Stock that leaks out through unofficial routes sells below list price, pricing breaks down, and both authorized resellers and consumers lose trust in the brand. Impersonation starts with one domain or one social account and ends in stolen customer data or fake transactions. Whatever the threat, the stage is the same: on the online channels where consumers look for the real product, fake listings and impersonator accounts get seen first and take the sale first.

MarqVision’s coverage follows the same three lines. Marketplace counterfeits go through the detection and removal workflow, unauthorized sales and price erosion through the gray-market solution, and fake domains and impersonation through digital risk response. That every industry can be handled within one framework was the point visitors confirmed most often at the booth.

Why detection and removal belong in one operation

MarqVision’s message at the event was simple. Brand protection isn’t a one-off job of finding and deleting counterfeits. It’s an ongoing operation: find threats, enforce against them, and feed the results into the next response.

Marq AI: from detected threats to real action

Marq AI sits at the center. It monitors online channels, detects counterfeits and brand impersonation, and carries the workflow through review and enforcement. It takes on the repetitive searching and sorting so your team can focus on judgment calls and strategy.

More detections isn’t the point. What counts is turning what you detect into actual removals and enforcement, and managing the results systematically. Marq AI monitors more than 1,500 online channels, including marketplaces, social media and domains, in more than 60 countries. It records a 95–98% removal rate on marketplaces, and the workflow from detection to removal typically completes within 12 to 72 hours depending on the platform. For teams that need to move fast on repeat infringement, those are working benchmarks.

Brand Intelligence Agent: finding the next move in the data

Once a threat is removed, the more important questions remain:

  • Is the same seller active on other accounts?
  • Which channels are seeing infringement grow fastest?
  • Which threat should we deal with first?

The Brand Intelligence Agent organizes seller patterns, threats by channel and response priorities to help answer them. Your team asks in plain language and uses the data you’ve built up for the next decision. Instead of just counting detections, you understand why brand data doesn’t lead to decisions and can read the connections and changes in the data. See also how every team can use brand intelligence.

Say the data shows a seller blocked on marketplace A starting up again with similar accounts on channels B and C. The Brand Intelligence Agent maps that connection and suggests what to prioritize next. Instead of chasing listings one by one, you go after the seller network behind the repeat infringement, and get more done with the same effort.

What a 360° AI operations partner means

When MarqVision talks about 360° AI operations, it doesn’t just mean monitoring more channels.

It means the whole process is connected: finding threats, taking the right action, and reading patterns in the results to sharpen the next response.

Detection → judgment → enforcement → analysis → next response

The cycle matters most when one seller is active on marketplaces, social media and domains at once. Connect the data across channels, and a threat that would have taken three separate responses can be handled with one enforcement action.

One food and beverage brand saw this while removing marketplace counterfeits. Through the intelligence layer, it found that the group of sellers relisting again and again was also running fake social media accounts using the same stolen brand logo. Treated as two separate problems, the work would have doubled. Because the brand could see the seller network in connected data, it dealt with both threats at once. That’s the difference the cycle makes in practice.

The longer the cycle runs, the less a brand has to chase individual infringements, and the faster it can understand repeat threats and get ahead of them. On this operating model, MarqVision aims to be a Growth Protection partner: helping brands create and manage IP, protect it from infringement and turn it into growth. At the event we shared that direction with professionals from many industries and tested it against the real challenges in their markets.
