Since our funding announcement and introduction of Marq AI in October, MarqVision has been busy making significant investments in people, products, and processes. Relentlessly committed to protecting original ideas, innovation, and creativity, we’ve been laser-focused on adding exceptional talent, rolling out game-changing product updates, and scaling to meet the expanding needs of our customers.
We’re proud of the solid foundations that we’ve built in 2024; take a moment to look at the video below to share in the journey of how we got here today:
Driving Innovation with Top Talent
To continually foster a culture of innovation and growth, we’re proud to announce that we’ve welcomed several key hires across AI, brand protection services, customer success, and marketing:
- Charlie Abrahams, one of the earliest leaders in brand protection, has joined as an advisor, bringing unparalleled industry expertise to help shape our vision. In addition to advising, he’ll be co-hosting our new thought leadership webinar series focused on the future of brand protection. You can sign up for more updates here.
- Joo Hyung Rino (pronounced Ree-no) Lee, our new Head of AI, brings cutting-edge expertise from his time at Google and Tensorflow, and will be leading the charge in developing the backbone of Marq AI. Fun fact: Rino also has a PhD from Stanford, but prefers not to be called Dr. Lee.
- Jake Morgan, Head of Brand Protection, has extensive product and operations management expertise as he comes to MarqVision from Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, where he was the Senior Director of Brand Management. He also spent 14 years with MarkMonitor, where he overlapped with Charlie!
- Joseph Yang, Head of Global Customer Success, has a history of leading high-performing teams, and will continue to build on his stellar success record leading customer success at Gem and Optimizely.
- Christina Kim, Head of Marketing, brings a wealth of experience from Google and Navan to amplify MarqVision’s reach and impact as she contributed to both companies’ successful upmarket expansions.
Introducing the First Product Innovations of 2025
Generative AI has reshaped industries faster than any technology in history, turning cutting-edge concepts into practical tools in record time. From customer support to creative industries, AI is revolutionizing workflows. At MarqVision, we’ve harnessed this power to address one of the most persistent challenges for brands today: identifying sellers concealing counterfeit activity in places like DMs on social media.
We first developed the beta version of Conversational Assistant in October. During the process, we learned that it required more than just teaching it to spot patterns; it needed to exhibit the same nuanced judgment as experienced brand protection analysts to be fully effective. We started by training the AI on the same foundational knowledge our teams use, from detecting counterfeit behaviors to interpreting unstructured data like seller profiles, messaging patterns, and platform-specific rules.
The breakthrough came when we incorporated years of real-world enforcement data, teaching the AI to make context-sensitive decisions with the expertise of a seasoned analyst. In just a matter of seconds, the Conversational Assistant was able to accurately detect counterfeit activity with 99%+ precision, at times topping the accuracy level of even our most seasoned analysts.
Starting today, this powerful tool is available to help brands in their fight against stolen ideas. For large brands managing a vast portfolio, the Conversational Assistant is a game-changer. It doesn’t just detect and respond; it scales enforcement efforts with its ability to engage in hundreds, even thousands, of conversations of actual sellers at once. See the Conversational Assistant in action in this highlight from our webinar, “New Year, New Frontiers in Brand Protection with Gen AI.”
Another standout from today’s launch is our AI-Driven Seller List Management feature. If you’re a marketer, think of it as creating “lookalike audiences” for authorized and unauthorized sellers.
By applying human-like reasoning to detect patterns, this feature recommends which sellers to approve or enforce against–saving you time in trying to find sellers and manage these lists on your own. With a click of a button, brands can also enforce unauthorized sellers at once, reinforcing our dedication to safeguarding brand reputations while saving our customers time and resources.
