AI company MarqVision (CEO Mark Lee) announced that it has raised KRW 22 billion ($16 million) in a Series A Prime round and launched Marq AI, which integrates its existing products on a generative AI foundation.
New investors Altos Ventures, QuantumLight, Smilegate Investment and Hillspring Investment joined the round, along with existing investors Y Combinator (YC) and Atinum Investment.
With this round, MarqVision has closed its Series A at a total of KRW 50 billion ($36 million). Its revenue in the first quarter of this year was more than 30 times that of the first quarter of 2021, when it officially launched its service, and about three years after launch its annual recurring revenue (ARR) has passed KRW 13.7 billion ($10 million). After steadily launching IP protection products, from counterfeit removal to solutions for removing illegal content, brand impersonation and unauthorized sales, MarqVision has rapidly expanded its lineup into IP management solutions such as Trademark Watch, which monitors unauthorized trademark filings abroad in real time.
Alongside the funding, MarqVision introduced Marq AI, its generative AI product suite. The company is integrating its previously separate services, Marq Commerce for removing counterfeits and Marq Content for blocking illegal content, and putting generative AI front and center. Products powered by generative AI are expected to deliver stronger brand and content IP protection while dramatically cutting the time and cost involved.
