MarqVision raises KRW 70 billion Series B to consolidate the global IP services market and advance its AI-powered services

- Global investors including Peak XV (Sequoia Capital India & SEA), HSG (Sequoia Capital China) and Salesforce took part, a sign of MarqVision’s exceptional growth potential

MarqVision (CEO Mark Lee), an AI-powered integrated IP services company, announced that it has closed a $48 million (about KRW 70 billion) Series B round. The round brings its total funding to more than KRW 120 billion, and MarqVision is expected to accelerate its consolidation of the global IP services market and the development of its AI-powered brand protection platform.
The round was led by Peak XV (Sequoia Capital India & SEA), with new participation from HSG (Sequoia Capital China), Salesforce Ventures, Coral Capital and Michael Seibel, partner emeritus at Y Combinator. Existing investors Y Combinator, Altos Ventures, Atinum Investment and Smilegate Investment also made follow-on investments.
It is rare for several firms that were once part of Sequoia Capital, such as Peak XV and HSG, to invest in the same company at once, which shows a firm consensus among global investors on MarqVision’s growth potential. Both are among the world’s largest investors, and they plan to actively support MarqVision’s global growth and market consolidation, drawing on their experience investing in and supporting more than 200 unicorns across Asia, the US and elsewhere.
“MarqVision has established itself as the leader in AI-powered brand protection at a time when counterfeits, impersonation and piracy threaten the trust in and value of brands,” said Shailendra Singh, managing partner at Peak XV. “With the spread of generative AI putting companies’ intellectual property under greater threat than ever, MarqVision’s approach is an essential solution for every company that grows through IP.”
Salesforce Ventures, which joined as a strategic investor, plans to help brand customers measure return on investment (ROI) more precisely and gain insights by connecting MarqVision with Salesforce’s own data. “In today’s digital ecosystem, brand intellectual property is the most important asset, and the one that most needs protection,” said Ken Asada, partner at Salesforce Ventures. “At a time when brand value shapes digital presence and trust, MarqVision is uniquely positioned to lead this change.”
With this investment, MarqVision introduced a new paradigm called Brand Control. It goes beyond traditional brand protection, which is limited to responding to IP threats such as counterfeits and illegal content, to gaining intelligence on and managing every digital and physical sales channel that exists. As generative AI drives a surge in counterfeits, unauthorized sales, impersonation and piracy, MarqVision aims to establish brand and content protection as an essential growth strategy rather than a defensive measure.
MarqVision combines AI technology with legal expertise to deliver fast, effective protection of brand rights. Its flagship product, Marq AI, detects and takes enforcement action against brand threats up to 100 times faster than existing brand protection solutions, and MarqFolio, its global trademark filing and management solution, helps companies file and manage trademarks quickly and precisely.
Customers that adopted MarqVision’s services grew online revenue by an average of 5–10%, and with a clear ROI, more companies are investing 0.5–1% of their online revenue in brand protection. The customer base has also expanded from IP and legal teams to marketing, e-commerce and online sales. More than 60% of users now work in sales and marketing functions, a sign that Brand Control through MarqVision has become a strategic growth driver.
“Brand Control is essential to a brand’s sustainable growth,” said MarqVision CEO Mark Lee. “Building on AI innovation and IP expertise, MarqVision will continue to actively help brands take direct control of their reputation and revenue, and grow them.”
Since its founding in 2020, MarqVision has expanded into industries including beauty, fashion, luxury, pharmaceuticals, gaming and entertainment, and it passed KRW 30 billion in annual recurring revenue (ARR) early this year. It has recently kept expanding its services, adding unauthorized sales response and live commerce monitoring, to consolidate the entire IP services market.
